Bio

Jim McHargue was born and raised in St. Charles, Missouri. Jim moved to Chicago and attended Loyola University in the early 1990s studying history and Spanish. He graduated cum laude in 1994. During law school at Chicago-Kent College of Law, he worked as a clerk in a law firm that focused on workers’ compensation and personal injury cases. Time spent with injured workers during law school proved to Jim that the community needed passionate attorneys to represent them in their time of need.

Jim has devoted his professional career to helping injured people through aggressive legal representation. He opened the Law Offices of James P. McHargue in 2000, and he has grown the firm while remaining focused on the principle of fighting for the rights of injured people. Now known as McHargue & Jones, LLC, the firm has helped thousands of individuals recover the compensation they needed to recover.

Jim speaks Spanish fluently and is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Workers’ Compensation Bar Association. He lives in the Chicago suburbs with his wife and two children.
